Parkview Hills Homes

Looking for a detached home with a generous lot size, private drive and what the heck…. a ravine! You’ve come to the right place. Parkview Hills is one pocket of East York which can offer you all of the above. Parkview Hill Real Estate is surrounded by ravine on one side and the Don River on the other. The original homes were built in the 1940-1950’s and range from bungalows, to two storey brick homes, to English cottage style homes. There are only a few hundred Parkview Hills homes in this secluded pocket!

History

As with many lands in East York, Parkview Hills was owned by the prominent Taylor family who owned mills and the Don Valle Brick Works nearby. The Taylors never settled on the lands in Parkview Hills but they participated in the subdivision of this land. Parkview Hills first opened in 1947 but there were no paved roads until 1950.

Transportation

An exclusive route along Parkview Hills Crescent takes residents to nearby Woodbine Subway station along the Bloor-Danforth Subway line. A quick 5 minute drive west along O’Connor quickly takes you to the Don Valley Parkway which is a convenient artery for getting North of the city or to the downtown core.

Schools

Parkview Hills is serviced by two public elementary schools and two public high schools. Centennial College's Warden Woods Campus is nearby, and University of Toronto is accessed via the Bloor-Danforth subway, and York University's Glendon Campus is to the north on Bayview Rd.

Shopping

The retail district at O'Connor & St. Clair and The Golden Mile shopping mall on Eglinton Ave E provide ample shops for local. A home Depot just north of St. Claire on O’Connor and the recent openings of numerous big box stores along Elginton leave the residents with a number of places to spend their money!

Recreation

The Presteign Heights School located in the centre of this neighbourhood off Parkview Hills Crescent features a sports field, a baseball diamond and a children's playground. Community volunteers also work tirelessly to maintain a natural ice rink on the school grounds in the winter months. Many classes offered by Toronto Parks and Recreation are offered in the gymnasium of this school.

Nearby Taylor Creek Park provides access to a nine kilometre paved trail that winds its way through the picturesque Don River Valley. This nature trail is ideal for walking, jogging and cycling and includes many nice picnic spots.
